Refelctions
Fortunately for 99% of my career after I received my bachelor's degree, I have been in a leadership role involving technology education. In these roles, I have had the opportunity to push on several tech initiatives, such as switching to Google for Education, Chromebooks as Mississippi state testing devices, and several distance learning initiatives. As a leader we must do our best to account for all stakeholders: admins, students, and teachers. Having access to blogs and sites allows us to share our knowledge. We should also make it a point to view other educator's blogs as well.
When I began the master's program, I had been the technology coordinator for 16 years and I was the president of the Mississippi Educational Technology Leaders Association. I had also been a member of MECA for 15 years. Now, in the final stages of the master's program, I am the Director of Informational Technology for Southwest MS Community College. Larger scale, same responsibility: to help educate students with technology and make sure that it works and is accessible. Still technology, Still education.
The artifacts listed below, reflected some of the things I had already encountered or experienced in my leadership roles. The Google Apps in the Classroom site was a tutorial based site that inspired me to create my own at www.krimsynntech.com. The blogfolios that I've done over the course of the program have been good for me as it let me express my thoughts on technology. These are very good resources for people that like to look at what others are doing. The skills assessment is good for prep work to see what your staff or students may need. This gives you an opportunity to plan for the upcoming year, or even an upcoming class. Schoology is a free online course site similar to Canvas and Google Classroom. Very easy and intuitive, I can easily see myself using this for a created course for staff to take part in professional development. One of the most intense projects that I completed this semester was the Literature review of Implementing 1:1 into K-12. This was an interesting topic as myself and many other tech coordinators in the staff have all toyed with creating a 1:1 environment in our districts. However, many rural schools like mine, it is very difficult to do because of the lack of staff and the lack of money.

Future Learning Goals
Personally, I enjoy learning and training. I love seeing the smiles on people's face when they see new tools or finally get a project complete that they had been having issues with. On the learning side of it, I know that I have to be able to keep up with every new technology trend. Not only that, I have to be able to keep up with the latest ways education are using the newest technology. However, it is a task I'm willing to accept.
As a leader, I must be ready and willing to improve the current environment. I must be willing to change the technology culture to improve and continue to progress. Only by being prepared and having forsight can you and your campus have true success.
